Even with all the prestige that comes with having a line of attendees itching for door tickets down the block, Popular Kids Club sustains the "we're doing this in someone's backyard" edge&authenticity, warmth and good humor of a smaller, less established comedy show.
If you're lucky enough you will witness HUGE industry names playing with a local comedy host's soundboard, only for them to find Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" stored in the bottom left button. Brand new punchlines ensue. There's no bombing when your jokes land in the arms of an angel.

You should be so lucky to catch professional sets while standing on a STEEP grade, between a half-forgotten record store and neighborhood bar while also being able to tell your heroes that you are a huge fan as they weave through the crowd to get to the bathroom. There's no greenroom here, we all share as equals in the chaos that is a local comedy show.
